This fraction belongs to the very early and remarkable issue from Ionia by 'Phanes' where a stag is walking left, above a retrograd Greek inscription reads 'I am the badge of Phanes'. The Phanes-issue is known by staters, half-staters, hemi-hectes and other minor fractions, which were found in different places in Ionia as Kolophon and Ephesos (for further studies see St. Karwiese, The Artemisium Coin Hoard and the first Coins of Ephesus, in: RBN 137 (1991), p. 16.
