Two realistic portraits struck on an unusually good metal, a banker’s
mark on obverse, otherwise good very fine Ex Peus 336, 1993, 566 and Peus 400, 2010, 270 sales.
In a recent article published in Essays Russo, Prof. Buttrey dates this denarius to 34. This die shows Cleopatra with very detailed features whereas on most dies her portrait is generic. She is known from the literature to have attracted men more by her personality than her natural beauty. AMP.
