The city of Chalcis in Syria was part of the Eastern territories granted by Marcus Antonius to his wife Cleopatra, mother to their children Helios and Selene. The propaganda machine of Octavian successfully used these grants against Marcus Antonius to win over the public opinion in Rome. AMP.
