Estimate: 10 EUR   |   Starting price: 9 EUR Price realized: 20 EUR
POST-WORLD II:. Münzen und Medaillen A.G. Basel, 12-13 November 1970. Vente Publique 43. Monnaies Puniques, Romaines et Byzantines, Livres de Numismatique. 750 lots, 78 pages, 39 plates with plate 1 in colour. Estimates sheet and photocopy of prices realized list. Illustrated white card covers as issued. Almost as New.
A note from BCD: A fine selection of Greek from Magna Graecia, impressive Aes Grave, Roman Republic silver and some rare Roman gold are the notable contents of this auction. The Labienus aureus with its enlargement photographed in colour is indeed stunning. We can correct the text here to call it the third known (and the only one in private hands) and not the fourth: the Woodward piece was pronounced false by Hersh in his die study published in the 1980 Swiss Revue.
