Du Chastel de la Howarderie, Comte A. Syracuse. Ses monnaies d’argent et d’or au point de vue artistique. London; Spink & Son, 1898. 8vo., pp. (8), 14 superb plates each with page of descriptive text. One additional plate (XVIII) loosely inserted. In the original gilt embossed maroon publisher’s cloth. A little worn at the extremities, the contents browned as is usual with some light pencil marks but very good overall. An attractive publication, scarce.
The Count of du Chastel, a major client of Leonard Forrer at Spink, formed a magnificent collection of Greek and Roman coins that are now housed in the Bibliothèque Royale, Bruxelles. Daehn 3137.
