Esuprasu. c.AD40-47. Gold stater. 19-21mm. 4.87g. Vertical wreath motif, two beaded rings at either side forming owl-like face./ Lunate horse l, IISVP above, [R] under head, [A]SV below. ABC 1917, VA 920, BMC 3269, S 405. CCI 06.0069 (this coin). VF/good VF, rose gold, bold horse with clear inscription. Ex DH collection, ex Laurie Tongue collection, ex 1970s-1980s coll. RARE.                
Normally Esuprasu staters are either struck in very base, very dark-looking gold or are plated. This lovely stater is neither. It’s minted in a peachy-pink gold (solid gold alloy) and inscribed with lovely large letters.
