Sudbury Snakeheads. c.50-40 BC. Silver half-unit. 11mm. 0.49g. Three-armed spiral of corded snakeheads each with spear projecting from mouth./ Horse left, ringed-pellet above and below. ABC 2261, VA−, BMC 2479, S 175. PAS: SF-797CA1 (this coin). Good VF, bright silver, clear snakeheads, well centred horse. Found Braintree, Essex, 7 April 2017. This three-armed motif is a highly original and distinctively British design, unlike anything seen in Gaul.
