Helmet Lyre. c.50-40 BC. Silver unit. 13mm. 0.87g. Helmeted head left./ Horse left, lyre above, wheel below. ABC 2117, VA−, BMC−, S−, BNJ 1999, no.14. Near EF, bold horse, clear lyre. One of the finest known. Found near Swindon, Wilts. EXTREMELY RARE only nine others recorded.

Like ABC 674, 845-54, 1498 this was ultimately derived from the helmeted head of Roma on Republican denarii. An infinitely superior specimen to the one shown in ABC.
