SICILY. PUNIC MINTS. Uncertain mint. Tetradrachm, about 350-330 BC. AR 17.20 g. Head of Arethusa r., crowned with reed, wearing triple pendant earring and necklace; in front, thymiaterion (incense- burner). Rev. In front of a palm tree, horse standing r., l. foreleg raised, crowned by Nike flying l.; in front, kerykeion, between horse's leg and trunk, Punic letters HB. Jenkins, CPS III, 42, 98 (this specimen mentioned and illustrated on pl. 5); SNG Lockett 1041 (this obv. die).
Excellent greek style. Nice old cabinet tone. Extremely fine
