Very rare. Excellent northern style. Extremely fine with nice patina
The first issue of Alexander I is by its iconography identical with the tribal issues of the Bisaltai. Macedonia was a member of the alliance formed by Thraco-Macedonian tribes and Alexander only began to consolidate Macedonian control over the other tribes after the Persian war. Still using the same types, they will now bear the king's name on the rev. (cf. SNG ANS 22).
