Christ seated facing on backless throne, feet on suppedium, wearing pallium and colobium, holding Book of Gospels in his l. hand, his r. hand raised in benediction; in upper field, IC - XC; around, double border of dots. Rev. +Iw ΔCCΠOTH The half-lenght figures of John on l., wearing loros, pendilia and crown, holding anexikakia in his r. hand, and of the Virgin on r., nimbate, wearing pallium and maphorium, holding between them long patriarchal cross; above the emperor's head, manus dei, above the Virgin and in field r., ΘªOV-MHTHP (both in monogram); around, double border of dots. Excellent style, very large flan. Extremely fine
