Three-Dollar Gold Piece

1859 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. AU-50 (PCGS).
This boldly to sharply defined, lustrous example also offers pretty bright gold patina. The 1859 is the final early date three-dollar issue with a mintage of more than 10,000 circulation strikes. Although, with only 15,589 pieces produced, it is scarce when viewed in the wider context of U.S. numismatics.
PCGS# 7979. NGC ID: 25MD.

From the RSC Collection.
