Nero (AD 54-68). AE radiate orichalcum as (8.63 gm). NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 1/5. Rome, ca. AD 62-68. NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP P P, radiate head of Nero right / GENIO-AVGVSTI, Genius standing left, nude to waist, sacrificing from patera in right hand over lighted altar at left, cornucopia on left arm. RIC I 124. Although the radiate crown typically indicates a double denomination, the weight of this issue is the delineator between asses (~9.50-8.50 gm) and dupondii (~17-15 gm). Also, the difference between RIC 87 (copper) and RIC 124 (orichalcum) is the flan composition as they are otherwise identical.HID05401242017
