Ecuador Guaranda 5 Pesos 7 Reales 1798 Pick Unlisted. A certainly interesting example. The present state of Ecuador at the time was part of the Viceroyalty of New Granada, a part of the Spanish Empire which existed from 1717 to 1821. Despite this large area which encompassed all of northern South America's Spanish areas, the city of Guaranda is clearly seen on this example. The royal seal on the face and stamp of Carlos IV on the back indicates this was an official, if small, issue to facilitate transactions. The odd denomination of 5 7/8 Spanish milled dollars is also interesting. An example that deserves more research. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. From the Feeling Good CollectionHID07501242017
