Grenada Government of Grenada 5 Shillings 1.7.1920 Pick 2ctp Color Trial Proof. A simply outstanding proof that is the only design known of this series. The golden border is hand painted, with several other features also custom-made for just this design. During this time, the currency in circulation was mostly the Spanish or Mexican dollar for trade. This note may represent an artifact of Great Britain's attempt to introduce a standardized Sterling based currency throughout the Empire. However, like the attempts in the Straits Settlements, Hong Kong, and Canada where association to the milled dollar was strong, this attempt to introduce Sterling in Grenada also failed. Excellent colors are seen on this wonderful example. An interesting A109670 serial number is seen. This is the only example of this design graded by PMG. Uncirculated 61 with pen annotations.
