COLOMBIA

COLOMBIA. 1758-J Escudo. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Ferdinand VI (1746-1759). Restrepo 12.6. EF-45 (PCGS).

Another rare early milled Escudo, with choice eye appeal and rich deep yellow gold toning. A shallow lamination is noted left of the shield, but this piece is free of notable post-striking defects. This is the non-overdate variety. The Eliasberg coin, in essentially identical grade, realized $1,610 in 2005.
From Don Canaparo, January 1981.
