Session C, Lot 40096

Estimate: 150 USD   |   Starting price: 75 USD Price realized: 240 USD

COLOMBIA. 1812-JF Escudo. Popayán mint. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). Restrepo 123.9. AU-53 (PCGS).

Light yellow gold with good luster and a strong degree of reverse reflectivity. A nearly vertical adjustment mark on the central obverse is subtly visible within the intricacies of the portrait. A reeding mark is noted in the right obverse field, but no other issues are seen. On its own, the reverse has the appearance of Mint State.
From Amon Carter, August 1974.
