Pretty, roman republican carnelian intaglio. Heron on a snail. Refined engraving, carried out with competence. Small globular elements employed in order to depict the numerous details. The avian tightens his long legs on the snail's shell, leaning forward towards her and pointing at her head, which is characterized by thin antennas. Wide chipping in the lower part. Very convex surface. 1st century B.C.
