Precious, roman carnelian intaglio. Lion, proceeding to the left. The mighty feline is depicted in the act of tightening a prey between its jaws. Excellent depiction of the body anatomy and head details, carried out with great technical competence. Presence of small and refined globular elements, employed to make the paws. Ground line. Wear marks. Light internal crack. Intense stone colour. End of the 1st century B.C. - Beginning of the 1st century A.D.
