Freckenham Crescents Phallic. Pelleted Star Type. Talbot Boar Horse C, Type 68b. c.20BC-AD10. Gold stater. 18mm. 5.40g. Solid back-to-back crescents on horizontal line, pellets in cusp, five-pointed star above and below./ Round-chested horse right, phallic motif above, pellet below tail, large floral sun below. ABC 1450, VA 620-4 (same dies), BMC 3385 (same dies), S 426. Good VF, large flan, rose gold, sharp stars, full horse with clear phallic motif and flower. VERY RARE only 27 others recorded

A similar phallic motif, which more sensitive folk might prefer to see as a stylised bucranium, also occurs on silver units ABC 1582 and 1585, indicating that they are part of the same denominational issue.
