(circa-1863) Inimica Tyrannis, Confederatio, J.A. Bolen Silver Facsimile, MS65 NGC. Kenney-2, Musante JAB-7, W-14240, R.8. Current numismatic knowledge suggests that Bolen made the dies for his facsimile or imitation of the Inimica Tyrannis/Confederatio copper in 1863. The obverse features the Goddess Diana and the reverse features the Large Circle Confederatio design. The extremely rare die combination is identified as W-5630. It is thought that just two Bolen examples were struck in silver, and only 40 in copper. A single brass example was also minted. A few additional examples may have been produced. Delicate blue overtones appear on the lustrous golden-toned surfaces of this attractive silver Gem. This piece was struck from slightly rusted and flawed dies, the latter said to be Bolen's cancellation of his dies. Bolen preferred to work in copper, so his brass and silver copies are extremely rare. Ex: A.H. Baldwin & Sons, Ltd.; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.HID05401242017
