J.C. Cox Right Handed 19th Century English Pub Till. Fine. A J.C. Cox invention for keeping track of payments in busy public houses or other businesses. Mid-19th century. In this model, the deposit mechanism was housed in the tower on the left, with coin shelves on the right for the cashier to make change. The base contains one detachable raised bowl and one recessed bowl for loose change, with a locking drawer below. The drawer contains two keys. Constructed of wood, brass, and thick panes of glass. An enameled oval plaque on the tower reads INVENTOR & PATENTEE/J.C. COX/174 QUEEN VICTORIA ST. LONDON. EC. Approximately 15 x 15 1/2 x 8 inches. Ex: Eric P.
