Impressive, large, medal from the time of Augustus III, minted on the occasion of the centennial of the Treaty of Oliwa (ending the Swedish Deluge) in Gdańsk in 1760.Coin chased in the background, with a nice, old, fire gilding. Relief well preserved. Very good appearance. Beautifully made depicting a detailed panorama of Gdańsk on the obverse (with the sentence "Hallow the descendants peace that we have for a hundred years" in the rim) and the monastery in Oliwa, where the agreement was concluded, on the reverse.Obverse: A view of Gdańsk with the sea in the background, in the rim the legend: PACEM QUAM POST CENTUM ANNOS COLIMUS CELEBRATE NEPOTES in the section of the Gdańsk coat of armsReverse: A view of the Oliwa Monastery above it the legend: AUGUSTO TERTIO / REGE POL / PATRE PATRIAE / SALVO / PACIS OLIVENSIS SAECVLVM ALTERVM / INTER SVPPLICATIONES ET VOTA / III MAII MDCCLX / INGREDITVR / GEDANVM, in the section OLIVA PACIFERA / III MAI MDCLXby Hannover medalist Luttmer (initial L on the obverse).
