CHINA. Officer Training Silver Medal, ND (1936). NGC AU-58.
L&M-965a; Kann plate 192; KMX-M535. 33mm. Obv. facing military bust, Rev. wreath. Presented to graduates of Chang's officer training school in Xian in June 1936. Attractive quality for this elusive medal, displaying very little wear and light tone over the surfaces.

Chang Hsueh-liang was an instrumental figure in ending the Chinese Civil War, accommodating communist rule, and presenting a united front in opposition to the Japanese occupation. One of the great heroes of Chinese twentieth century history.
