Struck from dies of fine style
LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 390-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.73 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing single-pendant earring, necklace and crested Attic helmet decorated with Skylla throwing stone; to right, [EY]. Rev. ՒHPAKΛEIΩN Herakles standing right, strangling the Nemean lion; to left, AΠΟΛ and club; below, oinochoe. HN Italy 1378. SNG ANS 66. Van Keuren 51 (same obverse die). Weber 706 (same dies). Struck from dies of fine style. The obverse somewhat off center and the reverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
