Lot
In a numismatic auction, the term “lot” refers to a specific unit or position that is offered for sale. Each lot represents a single coin or a group of coins that are presented as an individual object or as part of a collection. It includes a unique lot number, which is used to identify and manage the lot during the auction. During the auction, each lot is called up individually and put up for auction. Bidders have the opportunity to place bids, and the lot is eventually sold to the highest bidder.
